Skills Bootcamp

      SKILLSBOOTSCAMP

Skills Bootcamps are free and flexible courses, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer. They are being developed by the Government as part of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee, in partnership with employers, providers and local authorities, to help people develop the skills that are in demand in their local area and get a better job. Skills Bootscamps are currently available in London Barking for adults aged 19 and above, with a LEVEL 3 RAIL course in traction and Rolling Stock  and EAL Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Rail Engineering Track Maintenance (QCF)

Our Skills Bootcamps are short flexible courses of around 6-8 weeks that have been designed to give people the opportunity to build up their digital skills and fast-track them to an interview with a local employer. The courses are not for Rail industry experts – participants need a good grasp of the English language and a willingness to learn new skills. The training programme has been developed with local employers and participants who complete the programme will have the opportunity of an employer interview and support to apply for relevant jobs. The scheme is open to anyone aged 19+ in these local areas, whether they’re looking for work, already in work, or are returning to work after some time out. We have embedded interview skills and employability skills in this training programme.
